“È una storia autobiografica che racconta le ossessioni, le ansie, le paure e le gioie di un tifoso malato di calcio, di come tutto ciò si relaziona con la vita e con le altre persone che lo circondano: sembra che parli di me. Dai primi approcci al tifo da bambino, alla fase adolescenziale in cui si inizia ad andare allo stadio da soli, alle notti insonni prima di una partita importante, al relazionarsi con un mondo adulto che non tiene conto dei tuoi impegni con la tua squadra del cuore e con la curva, che è come una seconda famiglia. Negli anni ho saltato diversi compleanni, tra cui quello di mia moglie, battesimi dei miei nipoti, innumerevoli altre ricorrenze, tanto da condizionare ormai le persone a me più vicine a controllare il calendario delle partite prima di organizzare qualcosa in cui è richiesta la mia presenza. Peccato che il film non racconti anche l’educazione del figlio, perché sono sicuro che io e lui ci somiglieremmo terribilmente anche in quell’aspetto”

“It’s an autobiographical story that tells about the obsessions, anxieties, fears, and joys of a football fan who’s completely addicted to the game, and how all of this connects with life and with the people around him. It feels like it’s talking about me. From the first experiences of supporting a team as a child, to the teenage years when you start going to the stadium on your own, to the sleepless nights before an important match, to dealing with the adult world that doesn’t really care about your commitments to your team and to the stands, which feels like a second family. Over the years I’ve missed several birthdays, including my wife’s, my nephews’ baptisms, and countless other occasions. By now the people closest to me have learned to check the match schedule before organizing anything that requires my presence. It’s just a pity the film doesn’t talk about raising a son, because I’m sure he and I would end up being terribly alike in that respect too”
