Film People Project

Film People Project is a photographic archive of people and the films that shaped their lives

Boudu Saved from Drowning (Boudu Sauvé des Eaux) is a Renoir film about a tramp who throws himself into the Seine and is rescued by a bourgeois family. They take him into their home and he disrupts all their routines, but in doing so he brings happiness into an otherwise grey family. He’s one of those characters I wish I could have met in real life, someone who arrives and has this power to bring a sense of life into yours. Other films made me fall in love with cinema, but this one made me fall in love with life itself”
