“I’ve seen Tangos, the Exile of Gardel (Tangos. El Exilio de Gardel) many times. It feels very personal to me in the way it’s made, it’s a bit absurd, a bit funny, a bit serious, a bit… well, a bit Argentine. Especially in how it portrays a sense of community and togetherness, which is something that deeply moves me. The film is about the exile of Argentinians in France, and the first time I watched it I was in Paris. At that time I had never been to Argentina, yet I already felt drawn to it. I don’t know if there’s a real connection between the film and my later move to Argentina, but I like to think there is”

“Ho visto un sacco di volte Tangos, l’Esilio di Gardel. Lo sento molto mio per come è girato, è un po’ assurdo, un po’ divertente, un po’ serio, un po’… sì, un po’ argentino. Lo è soprattutto nel modo di raccontare il senso di comunità e unione, un tema che mi commuove e mi smuove. Il film parla dell’esilio degli argentini in Francia e la prima volta che l’ho visto ero a Parigi, a quel tempo in Argentina ancora non c’ero stata però già sentivo che mi chiamava. Non so se c’è un legame tra il film e la mia successiva partenza per l’Argentina, però è bello pensarlo”
