“The first time I saw Eyes Wide Shut I was in Praia a Mare, where I used to go on vacation with my parents. It was the summer of 1999, I was fifteen and the film was rated for ages 16 and up, but I managed to get in with an older friend by lying about my age. It’s the film that changed my life. After seeing it, I went home and told my mother that I wanted to become a director. Things later evolved differently and I became a cinematographer, but this was still the film that made me decide to move to New York City to pursue a career in cinema”

“La prima volta in cui ho visto Eyes Wide Shut ero a Praia, in Calabria, dove andavo solitamente in vacanza con i miei genitori. Era l’estate del 1999, avevo quindici anni e il film era vietato ai minori di sedici, però sono riuscito ad entrare con un amico più grande, mentendo sulla mia età. È il film che mi ha cambiato la vita, dopo averlo visto sono tornato a casa e ho detto a mia madre che avrei voluto fare il regista. Poi le cose sono evolute in maniera diversa e sono diventato direttore della fotografia, però questo è stato comunque il film che mi ha fatto decidere di andare a vivere a New York per intraprendere questa carriera cinematografica”
