“I ragazzi del film hanno da un lato un conflitto generazionale attivo, per cui provano a combattere gli schemi che sono loro imposti, dall’altro sono confusi, non sanno cosa vogliono, che direzione inseguono. Questa loro tensione verso qualcosa di diverso, accompagnato però da confusione e incertezza è una cosa che mi capita di frequente. L’ho visto la prima volta con i miei genitori ma ho dovuto rivederlo più volte per capirlo, sentivo che mi piaceva ma non sapevo perché. C’è una scena con il padre che spia da dietro la porta il figlio, Nanni Moretti, che a sua volta spia la sorella ed è bellissimo perché ognuno sta osservando la generazione successiva con giudizio, preoccupazione e forse anche un po’ di ammirazione”

“The guys of this movie on the one hand has an active generational conflict, so they try to fight the patterns that are imposed on them, on the other hand they are confused, they don’t know what they want, what direction they are chasing. Their tension towards something different, along with confusion and incertainty, is something that happens to me often. The first time I saw it I was with my parents but I had to rewatch it more times to understand it, I felt that I liked it but I didn’t know why. There is a scene with the father that spies on his son Nanni Moretti from behind the door and he, in turn, spies on his sister. It’s nice because everyone looks at the next generation with judgement, concern and maybe a little bit of admiration”
