“Tim Burton is my favorite director. Throughout his career he has always talked about outcasts and, since I’ve often felt like one myself, I’ve always felt understood. I chose Big Fish because I’m a dreamer, romantic and idealistic, just like Edward Bloom, the protagonist. I also like writing, telling stories, and I love this thing about him, the way he tells stories by dressing them up a little, embellishing them, because otherwise they wouldn’t be the same. My favorite scene is the one where they tell the son the story of when he was born, his face says everything”

“Tim Burton è il mio regista preferito, nella sua carriera ha sempre parlato degli outcast e io, sentendomi tale, mi sono sempre sentito ascoltato. Ho scelto Big Fish perché sono un sognatore, romantico, idealista, proprio come Edward Bloom, il protagonista. Inoltre mi piace scrivere, raccontare storie, e mi piace questa cosa di lui di raccontare le storie tendendo a infiocchettarle, imbellirle, perché se no non sarebbero le stesse: la mia scena preferita è quella in cui raccontano al figlio la storia di quando è nato, la sua faccia dice tutto”
