“Back in 2002, when I started studying cinema, I discovered the film archive and, through it, a whole series of films that were often not shown on TV. Among the films I discovered there was also One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. What struck me first was the great harmony among the actors, they were directed in a wonderful way. Also, having received a somewhat repressive education, not only within my family but also when it comes to individual freedom, sexual freedom, freedom in general, I really identified with the character played by Jack Nicholson, Randle McMurphy. I have always stood for freedom and for the affirmation of individuality. In the film, freedom is repressed, and that kind of prison where the characters find themselves is a metaphor for society, which imposes rules and arrangements that suppress individual freedom, even from an artistic point of view”

“Nel 2002, quando ho iniziato a studiare cinema, ho scoperto la cineteca e quindi tutta una serie di film che spesso in tv non trasmettevano. Tra quei film che ho scoperto c’era anche Qualcuno Volò sul Nido del Cuculo: mi ha colpito innanzitutto per la grande armonia che c’è tra gli interpreti, sono stati diretti in modo favoloso. Inoltre, avendo ricevuto un’educazione un po’ repressiva, non solo in ambito famigliare, ma anche per quel che concerne la libertà individuale, la libertà sessuale, la libertà in generale, mi sono molto immedesimato nel personaggio di Jack Nicholson, Randle McMurphy. Sono sempre stato per la libertà e per l’affermazione dell’individualità: nel film la libertà è repressa, quella sorta di prigione in cui si trovano i personaggi è una metafora della società, che impone leggi e disposizioni che reprimono la libertà dell’individuo, anche da un punto di vista artistico”
