“The first time I saw Marriage Italian Style, I was blown away. First of all, by how a film from that era can still feel so relevant, and especially by how much it can convey, even though it’s so distant in time. In my opinion, it reflects the essence of everyone’s life, because in this film you find everything: love, magic, the most genuine kind of drama, but not in a harsh way. Cinema often misrepresents pain by romanticizing it, but here you see, in its purity, the beauty of something so dramatic. It’s a film that completely enchanted me. It made me realize how complex life is, and how wonderful it is to explore every shade of that complexity”

“La prima volta che ho visto Matrimonio all’Italiana sono rimasto folgorato, innanzitutto come un film di quell’epoca possa essere ancora così attuale e soprattutto quanto ti può trasmettere, nonostante sia così lontano nel tempo. Secondo me rispecchia l’essenza della vita di tutti quanti, perché in questo film trovi tutto: l’amore, la magia, il dramma più vero, ma non crudo. Spesso il cinema travisa il dolore romanzandolo, qui invece vedi, nella sua purezza, la bellezza di una cosa così drammatica. È un film che mi ha totalmente stregato, mi ha fatto capire che la vita è molto complessa ed è meraviglioso indagare ogni sfumatura di questa complessità”
