“The Best of Youth allowed me to experience and understand certain historical moments that I never lived through, but whose consequences I can still feel in my own life, from school to society to the system I live in, it all comes from there, which is why I’ve always felt it so deeply. My father told me about those times when every opinion was monitored, when people could be searched without warning. I, on the other hand, grew up in a time when many of those struggles were already far behind us. This film, instead, fueled and supported my political activism since high school, in a way it gave me the push I needed to become a student representative and to feel confident in standing up for my beliefs”

“La Meglio Gioventù mi ha permesso di vivere e comprendere certi momenti storici che non ho vissuto ma di cui avverto sulla pelle ogni conseguenza, dalla scuola alla società, al sistema in cui vivo: viene tutto da lì, per questo l’ho sempre sentito dentro. Mio padre mi ha parlato di quei tempi in cui ogni opinione veniva controllata, in cui qualcuno poteva anche subire perquisizioni all’improvviso, io invece sono cresciuta in un’epoca in cui molte lotte erano ormai lontane. Questo film invece ha alimentato e sostenuto il mio attivismo politico sin dai tempi del liceo, in qualche modo mi ha dato la giusta spinta per diventare rappresentante d’istituto e sentirmi a mio agio nel portare avanti le mie battaglie”
