“In a moment of loss, The Barbarian Invasions (Les Invasions Barbares) completely shook me, and in the end gave me back a sense of vitality and connection. In a way, it felt like the film had been waiting for me, only to bring me back to life from within. There are many incredibly powerful moments, especially the scene where the father passes away. I watched it after a loss I had never been able to process, and even now I can’t bring myself to watch it again. And yet, it has stayed with me, very deeply”
