FILM PEOPLE PROJECT
🇬🇧 Film People Project is a photography and storytelling project that explores life stories through cinema. Each participant is portrayed and invited to choose the film of their life, not the “best film,” but the one that, at a specific moment, helped them understand who they are, what they have lost, what they are searching for, or who they are becoming.
The photographic portrait is only the beginning. At the heart of the project are the people and their personal narratives, experiences, wounds, turning points, loves, falls, rebirths, memories. Cinema becomes a narrative key, a starting point to reveal an authentic part of oneself. Film People is an ever evolving human archive, a collection of interviews and portraits that bring together portrait photography and emotional memory. Each story proves that behind a title there is always something more, there is a life.
This artistic project was born from the desire to listen and to give space to anyone who has something to share. It does not matter which film you choose. What matters is why you choose it. If you carry in your heart a film that marked an important moment in your life, Film People is the place where that story can find its voice.
AUTHOR
Alessio Trerotoli is an Italian photographer, born and raised in Rome, where he currently lives. He is the author of the award-winning series Urban Melodies and Raindrop Blues, published in some of the most important photography magazines. He currently collaborates with several art galleries in Italy, France, the United States, and China. He graduated in 2009 in Arts and Cinema Studies. His first exhibition took place in 2010, and since then Alessio’s photographs have been shown in various galleries, festivals, and art fairs, both in Italy and abroad. In 2019 he started the Film People project.
🇮🇹 Film People Project è un progetto fotografico e di storytelling che racconta storie di vita attraverso il cinema. Ogni persona che partecipa viene ritratta e invitata a scegliere il film della propria vita: non il “miglior film”, ma quello che in un momento preciso l’ha aiutata a capire chi è, cosa ha perso, cosa sta cercando o cosa sta diventando.
Il ritratto fotografico è solo l’inizio. Al centro del progetto ci sono le persone e il loro racconto personale: esperienze, ferite, svolte, amori, cadute, rinascite, ricordi. Il cinema diventa una chiave narrativa, un pretesto per far emergere una parte autentica di sé. Film People è un archivio umano in continua evoluzione: una raccolta di interviste e ritratti che uniscono fotografia ritrattistica e memoria emotiva. Ogni storia dimostra che dietro un titolo c’è sempre molto di più: c’è una vita.
Questo progetto artistico nasce dal desiderio di ascoltare e dare spazio a chiunque abbia qualcosa da raccontare. Non importa quale film scegli. Importa perché lo scegli. Se anche tu porti nel cuore un film che ha segnato un momento importante della tua esistenza, Film People è il luogo in cui quella storia può trovare voce.
L’AUTORE
Alessio Trerotoli è un fotografo italiano, nato e cresciuto a Roma, dove vive. Autore delle premiate serie Urban Melodies e Raindrop Blues, pubblicate dalle piĂą importanti riviste di fotografia. Attualmente collabora con diverse gallerie d’arte in Italia, Francia, Stati Uniti e Cina. Laureato nel 2009 in Discipline dell’Arte e del Cinema, la sua prima mostra è stata nel 2010, da allora le foto di Alessio sono state esposte in diverse gallerie, festival e fiere dell’arte, in Italia e all’estero. Nel 2019 comincia il progetto Film People.
