“The English Patient tells an intense love story, and that’s why it has always moved me: their passion is full of contrasts and difficulties. Even though it’s clear they’re in love from the very first glance, they can’t really live their relationship, and this kind of complicated love reminds me of something I’ve experienced myself. I feel close to the protagonist when she’s moved by the cave paintings, there’s an archaeological element in the film that is very close to my heart. When she discovers those paintings, her emotion just before dying completely broke me: it’s a film that brings together all my passions, I cry my eyes out every time”

“Il Paziente Inglese racconta un’intensa storia d’amore ed è per questo che mi ha sempre emozionato: la loro passione è piena di contrasti e di difficoltà. Nonostante è evidente che siano innamorati già dal primo sguardo, non possono vivere la loro storia però e questo amore pieno di difficoltà mi ricorda qualcosa che ho vissuto anche io. Mi sento vicina alla protagonista quando si emoziona davanti alle pitture rupestri, nel film c’è una componente archeologica che è una tematica a me molto vicina. Quando lei scopre queste pitture rupestri la sua emozione prima di morire mi ha devastato: è un film che unisce tutte le mie passioni, piango sempre come una fontana”
