“Human beings carry both light and darkness within themselves, and I often find this duality in life, but also in cinema. I love Lynch’s dualism between dreams and nightmares. I believe Mulholland Drive is a film where melancholy truly finds a home, and it’s where I reconnect with the most melancholic side of my personality. I’m very attached to this part of myself, and I see it reflected in the atmosphere of this introspective Los Angeles, unlike the way the city is so often portrayed in films. I first had many of these thoughts when I was thirteen, after seeing this film for the first time, alone in an empty movie theater. Back then, I didn’t understand it at all, but that was also part of what fascinated me about it”

“L’essere umano porta con sé luce e oscurità e questa dualità la ritrovo spesso nella vita, ma anche nel cinema. Amo il dualismo lynchiano tra sogno e incubo, credo che Mulholland Drive sia un film dove la malinconia riesce ad abitare benissimo, è qui che ritrovo infatti la parte più malinconica della mia personalità. Sono molto affezionato a questa parte di me e la rivedo nell’atmosfera di questa Los Angeles piena di introspezione, al contrario di come spesso viene raccontata nei film. Molte di queste riflessioni le ho fatte a tredici anni, quando ho visto questo film per la prima volta, al cinema da solo, in una sala vuota. A quei tempi non l’avevo assolutamente capito ma mi aveva affascinato anche per quello”
