“I saw it at the Sacher when I was a teenager, and I remember taking the poster home with me. That’s one of the reasons I have such a special connection with Paris, Texas. It’s a film centred on a very human feeling, loss, and, in a way, on the search for something, which ultimately is a bit like searching for life itself. Sooner or later, we all find ourselves searching for something we’ve lost. You don’t have to be a superhero, just an ordinary person like the film’s protagonist”
