Film People Project

Film People Project is a photographic archive of people and the films that shaped their lives

“I have a deep emotional connection with Edward Scissorhands. It was the first film my mother ever showed me, and she’s no longer with us. She wasn’t sure whether to let me watch it because she was worried it might not be suitable for a four year old, but I was glued to the screen, and as soon as it ended, I asked her if she could play it again from the beginning. For a long time, I also felt that Edward represented me. At school, I was labelled as the slightly weird girl because I had different interests from everyone else. I never had many friends, but that never really bothered me, even though I was somewhat of an outcast, just like Edward. Today, I look back on all of this with peace of mind, because I’m true to myself”
