“My best friend and I watched Dirty Dancing countless times together. Since we knew it by heart, we would sometimes skip entire scenes just to rewatch our favorite parts. We met as kids while playing volleyball in middle school, and we’ve been friends for nearly thirty years. We don’t really watch the film anymore, not for any particular reason, life just moved on and now we do lots of other things together. We mostly watched it when we were younger. Maybe we should watch it again someday, it would be nice. I remember we both thought Patrick Swayze was very… interestng. Even though the film is fairly simple, there was something wonderful about the lightheartedness it gave us. I think that’s probably the secret of its success: its simplicity”

“Ho visto Dirty Dancing un sacco di volte con la mia migliore amica e, siccome lo sappiamo a memoria, a volte saltavamo intere parti per vedere le parti che ci piacevano di più. Ci siamo conosciute da bambine giocando a pallavolo durante le scuole medie, siamo amiche da circa trent’anni. Non guardiamo più questo film perché non c’è più capitato ma facciamo tante altre cose. Lo vedevamo soprattutto quando eravamo più giovani, ora abbiamo smesso, anche se forse dovremmo guardarlo di nuovo insieme, sarebbe bello. Ricordo che trovavamo Patrick Swayze molto …interessante e, anche se il film era piuttosto basico, era bello vivere quella leggerezza. Il suo successo forse è dovuto proprio alla sua semplicità”
